House

Do any of you ever just see this one house and you always think ohhhh it's so pretty. Well there is this one house and I promise you every time we drove passed it I would say "ohhhhh it's just so pretty". Well the other guess what I saw on a side door ? A for sale sign, and come to find out the house has been for sale for 3 years, and the owner (the home belonged to his parents) said it has been pretty much empty since 2000 . We are seriously thinking about it, we'd love to have it but there is alot to think about like the price, work and updating the house needs. The original home was build in or around 1896, the addition was added in the 50's.

The house has 4 bedrooms (two are part of the original house, two are in the addition), the two bedrooms in the addition have foundation issues, two bathrooms (of course they are both in the addition because the original house had no bathroom), it has a family/game room (in the addition), dining room and living room (original), and a den (in the addition), the kitchen (original) of course was updated at some point, the ceiling was dropped in it, it is in need of a good update now. My favorite things about the house are the porch and the large windows, of course the size of the house is nice also.

The lot with the house is huge and has several big trees on it. The house is just really our style and I can just imagine how beautiful it really could be made.

Back Home

Molly's visit today to the CF doctor didn't go great but it wasn't terrible.
Her lung function was down, but not at it's worst. Since she has exams at school this week, and we have vacation coming up on the 14th the doctor decided to treat her with 3 weeks of oral antibiotics. At first we had just planned on her going in the hospital this Sunday and get the stay over with before vacation but Molly is going to have a port put in her next stay (because her veins are just wore out). If she had gone in Sunday and had the port put in during that stay she wouldn't have been able to get it in the water at the beach and that would be no fun. They also said there was no sense in putting her through ever how many iv's it took again .. so they decided to just wait until after our vacation and deal with it all then. The doctor did say though don't plan on staying in the hospital when we go back, just go prepared just in case, so let's all hope and pray she'll be a lot better. Hopefully that salty air at the beach will do her some good.
Ok......tons to do, you know...baths, breathing treatment, etc. Back to school in the morning. Thank goodness this is the last week.

Tuesday

Hope everyone had a great long weekend. We stayed busy. Saturday was my two youngest nephews birthday party, happy birthday again Landon and Logan. They got lots of neat stuff at their party and I know they'll really enjoy that pool they got. Yesterday was my dad's birthday so I went and saw him yesterday evening.
Today we're off to Birmingham for Molly's CF clinic visit. Hopefully you'll hear back from me with good news ........

Anniversary Sale At Antique Mall

We really enjoyed getting to go to the antique mall Thursday night for the anniversary sale. It was nice to see the big turnout there for the event.

Busy Time Of Year

I have been wanting to post a while now but it seems that when I have a spare moment to blog I'm too tired. I have been getting on reading everyone else's post though.
It is amazing how much busier life seems during the Spring/Summer months. You know there are yards to mow, flowers to tend to, hummingbird and bird feeders to keep full, 19 baby chicks to keep fed and watered, Estate sales to go to, etc.
Friday I did lots of yard work. Saturday Steve and I went to Macon, MS to an Estate Auction. Didn't buy a thing but had a great time. The auction was held at the home of Mennonites, there were lots of Mennonites there. They're such sweet people and I think they're so cute in their simple clothes.
The best part of that trip was stopping by the Ole Country Bakery in Brooksville, MS for some strawberry pie.........Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Yesterday Steve and I spent most of the day out at the barn gathering things to take to the antique mall today to work our booths. I wish I'd have had my camera with me, I was so proud of how our two spots turned out after we re-worked them. Thursday night is the 23rd Anniversary Sale at the antique mall, as of now Steve is off and we're planning on attending. I'm excited about that and hope we sell alot (you know, extra $ for our beach vacation in June).
Hopefully I'll post again soon. Tomorrow we're planning on getting out and working in our garden, from all the rain we've had lately the grass is really starting to try to take over.

Never A Break From "It" - It As In CF

Molly is spending the night with a friend tonight, I'm sure they're laughing and playing, having a great time but as you can see by everything we packed that even though she's away from home she never gets a break from the CF, no matter where she goes there are always lots of oral and nebulizer meds, vest machine for her airway clearance and nubulizer machine to deal with. I wish for her she could forget all that stuff for a day and just be a normal little girl, but with CF you can never forget it.

Family Meal

We all had a good time last night having a family meal for Tiffany's birthday. I tell ya though by 4 pm yesterday I wasn't sure I was going to survive. I had a very busy day, the meal turned out great though if I do say so myself, I cooked a ham, chicken 'n dressing, green beans, deviled eggs, slaw, rolls and a birthday cake, Mmmmmmmmm!

Molly said "the ham was da bomb". haha ...

Tiffany's birthday gift from her husband is a trip to Atlanta this weekend to go to a Braves game. Isn't that sweet, I'm sure they'll have a great time.

It's my first baby's birthday, she's 23 today. Where do the years go ?!?!?!
I am cooking supper tonight for her and husband so I need to cut this post short, I have a ham to bake, a bday cake to bake, dressing to make, you get the idea. I have got to get on the ball.

My Mother's Day

Yesterday was such a great day, I enjoyed time with my family and received lots of great gifts (air purifier, 3 Beverly Lewis books, a CD, Yellow Box flip flops, a Southern Belle shirt and some beautiful cards). My sweet husband even cooked supper (broccoli, rice and cheese casserole) for me last night, and for dessert we had a Key Lime pie. I think Mother's Day needs to be at least once a month.

Friday Finds

Yesterday we went to Tuscaloosa to get my vehicle serviced, well on the way out town we saw a yard sale. Of course Steve wanted to stop, I wasn't thrilled at the idea of stopping but we did anyway. We used to go to yard sales so much but lately I just get so discouraged, we go and drive all over the country and usually find nothing. Well let me just say yesterday was a good yard sale stop.

For me the best find was a cookie jar, I was looking on a table they had set up, they had a dishpan full of things, well in this I spotted a cookie jar and a set of salt and pepper shakers.
Last night after looking in a book on cookie jars that we have I found what I was looking for. It is a Luzianne Mammy, I really believe this to be the same cookie jar. There are reproductions out there but this jar is marked USA on the bottom, it was painted with cold paint (paint applied over fired glaze).

As you can see mine has hardly any paint on it but either way, I'm thrilled with it. I guess I should mention we paid $2.00 for the cookie jar and $1.00 for the set of salt and pepper shakers.

I will post another day on a cookie jar I found a year or so ago at a thrift store, we paid 54 cents for it! I later discovered it's a Romper Room cookie jar, made in Japan and is worth alot more than 54 cents.
Now we're off to do some Mother's Day shopping, have a great Saturday everyone...

Birthday Misses And Wishes

Wednesday would have been the birthday of someone very special in my life, my Mama Hayes (my paternal grandmother). She was born May 6, 1921 in Marion Co. Alabama. If she were still with us she would have been 88 years old. She passed away on Jan. 1, 1996. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her and miss her, I know I've mentioned her before on my blog but I don't think I could ever mention her too much, she was for sure a one in a million and I'm so glad she was mine and I sure do miss her.

Also today is another special lady's birthday, my great Aunt Ruth. She has always been like another grandmother to me, such a sweet lady. She's 81 years old today. Some of you may remember the post last year about her big 80th birthday party.
