Missing Him ...

Well the time came again today for Steve to leave us to head back to work again.
Always sad to see him leave .... wish the hospital wasn't two hours away from home.
:-(

City Dove

One day Steve and I walked across the road from the hospital to go get Molly something from McDonald's. As we were walking on the sidewalk nearing a tree Steve said "stop". I thought oh my goodness a snake is about to get me. It wasn't a snake though, it was a sweet dove sitting on a nest. Today we took Molly outside to show it to her and get some pictures. Neat to see something like this in a city like Birmingham. You can tell by the pictures the dove almost doesn't look real, her colors blend into the tree very well.
I have good news to share with you today, Molly went downstairs this morning for her pulmonary function test, it was better. Great to see she had made improvement.
We are looking so forward to going home Friday.

Hospital Room

Here are a few shots of our home away from home. We are in a nice room this stay, it's alot newer and roomy than most rooms we've been in. Check out the closet, it's really nice having that storage space.

We brought the bedding from home for the hospital bed, just makes it feel more like home. I'm also glad we brought Molly's mushroom chair from home, works out great for her to sit in and play her playstation. (Click pictures to enlarge)

wooohoooo

Yea! I finally got this thing to let me post. I had to right click on sign in then click open in a new box. How exciting, now I don't feel so alone here at the hospital, I can feel I have someone near since I can blog.
I had my sweet honey (Steve) to post for me this morning from work. Thank you honey...
We're missing Steve so much, sad to have had him with us for 14 days straight and the time finally came for him to head back to work. Oh well.....at least he has a good job so I won't complain much.

Molly is doing good, I even feel good this stay. I know that sounds strange but heck even though she was admitted to the hospital at least her lung function had improved since last clinic visit (May 26). So we came in with her not feeling terrible, and her weight was even up. I think that's a good thing. Last night and this morning her o2 sats were even at 99, wooohooo!
I know she has ruff times but we truely are blessed that things haven't been worse for her.
She should get to go blow (pulmonary function test) Monday or Tuesday, I'm anxious to see what the improvement will be.
Also this hospital stay she's only on 2 iv meds, one she does every six hours, the other one only once a day, so this means she isn't hooked up to her iv quiet so much, also she's only getting 3 breathing treatments a day instead of the usual 4.
More later....

Hey everybody! We're at the hospital, Molly was admitted Tuesday. We have a loaner laptop from the hospital and for some crazy reason it won't allow me to sign into my blog so I can post. I can see my blog, and visit everyone else's though. So if anyone post comments I can read them.Steve is copying and pasteing this message for me. Molly's lung function was up a little when we came to clinic Tuesday but still not up where the docs would like her. You all know over the past few months we've been trying to fight things with oral antibiotics but with CF when it comes down to it you need those high powered iv antibiotics to get you really cleared out. So that's why we're here. She does seem much better already, and last night her o2 sats were at 99, yeaaaa! It was at 96 when we came in on Tuesday. For now the plan is for this to hopefully just be a 10 day stay, so we could get out of here July 3rd and be home for the 4th, we hope this really works out because spending the 4th in the hospital would be no fun. We're ready to get out of here and go swimming. We had planned on Molly getting a port put in this hospital stay but because it's summer and we love swimming we decided to wait until fall or winter time to send her to surgery for that, don't want anything to delay her from having fun once we get out of here. Steve had to leave us last night because he had to go back to work today after having 14 days off. We hated so bad he had to leave us and we miss him sooooooooooooo much already. You all just have no idea, he's just the best! Seriously he treats me and Molly like queens. We're soooooooooooooo lucky.3 nights down at the hospital and hopefully only 7 more to go..... sure hope they go fast. Tracy

Ferris Wheel

Steve and I rode the ferris wheel at the Wharf in Orange Beach, it was an experience for me because I am so afraid of heights. I kept my eyes closed pretty much the whole time on the ride, haha ...

Back From Vacation

We made it back home from Gulf Shores about ten o'clock last night. We hated so bad having to come home, well all except for Wesley. I tell I don't understand him sometimes, he seems to just not like to do anything or go anywhere. Steve, Molly and I had a blast though for sure!

Oh guess what? We even got to go to the Wharf in Orange Beach Thursday night and see Reo Speedwagon and Styx in concert, it was great!

I did get too much sun the very first day there, my back and shoulders burned so bad, it's odd too because usually I'm not one that burns. The second night I slept maybe an hour because my back was stinging so bad, now I'm peeling, it looks just horrible.

I have so many stories I could tell, everything was just so fun.......we had a great week.

I have so many things I am trying to get done though, tomorrow is CF clinic day and we feel Molly will be admitted for sure this time so today I've been unpacking the beach stuff and packing up the hospital stuff.

Here's a photo from the beach, I'll post more when I have/get time.

Saturday Finds

This morning Steve and I got up early to hit some yard sales. There were so many listed in the paper but we also ran across alot that were unadvertised, we shopped for probably 3 hours and didn't even make it to half the yard sales we had on our list. Here are our finds for the day:

test tubes and stands - everything for $1

Yellow Ware bowl and card/photograph holder - $19 for both

Enamel pitcher, McCoy Cookie Jar base, Fire King 3 pc set of bowls - $7 for all

cast iron rooster napkin holder and pink glassware bowl - $2.50 for both

My favorite little piece, she was only 50 cents. You should see all her crackles, the picture doesn't do her justice.

Feeling The Need To Scream

I have had a ruff past several days. I guess we all go through times like this sometimes, where you just feel like you could scream if that would help anything. Believe me if I thought it would help anything I would do some big time screaming.
I wish I could just speak my mind and not worry about people reading it .... that's alot of my problem. I need to start standing up for myself and speaking my mind. I have let people run over me for too long. You just have no idea ...

I am looking so forward to our trip to the beach that is coming up soon, oh it's going to be so nice to get away for a while. And believe me we really need to get away from here for a while.

About the house in my previous post, we are still very interested in it and want to have someone we know go with us and check some things out and get his opinion.
We are trying to be patient, if it's meant to be it will happen.
