Tuesday Finds

Yesterday Steve and I went to Tuscaloosa. We went because football season is near (Rolllllllll Tide!) and I wanted some houndstooth earrings and Alabama flip flops. Well we can not go to Tuscaloosa and miss the thrift store and it's always fun to visit Skyland Antique Mall.
As far as my Alabama gear, I didn't find flip flops but I did find my earrings and a cute pair of Alabama sunglasses.
We didn't find a lot of goodies at the thrift store or antique mall but found a few little things. Below are a few of my favorite.
The glass stones I found at the thrift store, the doll head and old bowl which I just love came from the antique mall. I wasn't sure what I'd do with any of it but this morning it hit me. I think this doll would enjoy soaking in a beautiful old bowl with glass bubbles, don't you? She looks cute soaking sitting by my tub but I don't plan on keeping her, she'll be for sale in our booth.

Also I have a thing for any old thing that is baby or child related. Don't you just love these bronzed baby shoe bookends, they're so cute! They'll also go in our booth for sale.

Thursday

The kids are back in the swing of school, I guess. No matter how you're in the swing of it I don't think it's ever fun having to get up early in the morning. Ughhh....
Thank goodness today is Thursday, one day closer to the weekend. It's funny we look so forward to the weekend but that's sad really, to wish the days away like that.

Today Steve is off, well he worked last night so he's napping right now but thank goodness he is off tonight. I think when he gets up we'll go somewhere. We want to go antiquing but dad gum, pickings are so slim around here. It's sad there really aren't neat places to go look for goodies. No matter what though we'll be happy to be together ...

Back To School

Wes and Molly went back to school today, our summer seemed to go by so fast but it was a great summer.
I think the kids weren't really ready to go back but they didn't complain too much. Molly is in 8th grade and Wes is in 11th this year. Gosh how time flies ....
It was neat to see each grade in high school wearing their class t-shirts, also makes the decision of what to wear the first day of school simple.

Canton, Texas = FUN !

We had the best time ever on our trip to Canton, Texas. Let me tell you the people were so nice, seriously everywhere we went we were amazed at the hospitality those people show everyone. We ate at some great restaurants, we even had our first bison burgers ever.
Of all the states I have visited I think Texas is the best!
My legs are sore from all the walking we did at Canton but it was well worth it, it's for sure a birthday I'll never forget.
We were tickled we got to meet Mindy, David and Donna.

We didn't do as much buying as we had planned but we bought several things.

Steve's favorite purchase was made yesterday on our way home, we stopped in West Monroe, LA and his bought himself a old Tonka toy truck in great condition, I'll have to try to snap a picture of it soon to share with you all.
There were lots of shops in West Monroe on Trenton St., of course with it being Sunday only 2 were open. We want to make a trip back there one day for some shopping.
Ok, back home and to reality ... housework and laundry today, ughhh!
