Daffodils

Daffodil
So beautiful,
You catch my eye.....
How did you come to be?
Standing alone amongst the towering pines
Ever radiant,
You dance a dance of joy
And you sing a song of wonder
Never uttering a sound
And I smile.....
As I pass

John Trent

I did smile yesterday when I saw these on the side of the highway, in fact I squealed with joy.

Mirror, Mirror On The Wall

The ugly mirror on the dresser has been replaced.  It is a mirror we just happened to have on hand, I like it pretty well, compared to what was originally on the dresser.

Now to paint the bedroom suite, sometime ... in all our spare time, haha!

Little Grandson

Little grandson, I promise you time,
To give you all of the gifts that are mine.
To savor your mischief and join your fun,
To shoot for the stars and bask in the sun.

To walk hand in hand at your pace,
To delight in your smile and dirty face.
To splash each puddle, inspect each bug,
To give you lots of kisses and hugs.

Together we are life's perfect pair,
Both free to love without a care.
I know so well that children don't last,
We'll cherish each day before it's passed.

Master Bedroom

The pictures above are of our master bedroom. We have been in our home about 14 months now. It's a farm style house built in 1921, with additions made in 1926. We have done lots of painting throughout the house but as far as our master bedroom we have done nothing, even those curtains (ugh) were left by the previous owners. As you can see it's a very dark room. I flip flop back and forth about whether to paint it or not to paint it. I think it has grown on me (all the dark wood) even though at first I hated it. One thing that has to go though is that bedroom suite (graduation gift to my husband from his parents).  The more I look at prices of furniture the more I am thinking of painting this one, I want to go with white. Only thing though I feel this bedroom suite is so 80'ish, and I just hate that. For sure the ugly mirror/shelf is going that's on the dresser. You can see I already I have it cleaned off and ready to be gone, just waiting on husband to be home from work long enough to help me get it out. What do you think? Couldn't you see shabbified (made up that word myself)  bedroom suite, white sheer curtains, pretty chandelier?

Happy New Year!

Today Steve and I attended an annual New Year's Day antique auction. We used to love going to antique auctions but this was probably our first one in about two years.
We stayed for the duration of the auction and of course as auctions go we didn't buy what we would have really liked to, you know how people seem to spend more for things at auctions than they normally would. We did buy several things, and the main thing is we had a good time and enjoyed being together.
This is my favorite purchase of the day, I love the color...and of course the rust.
I bought this for my bedroom, not only is it cute, but but great for a little extra storage.
