Beautiful Wedding

Just wanted to post really quick so everyone will know we're all still alive here. We did survive the wedding. Ahhhhhhhhh such a relief that it's over, but then again so hard to believe it was over so fast.
Everything was so beautiful and the weather couldn't have been any better.
I also want to brag on my sweet husband, if not for him I don't know what we would have done, he worked so very hard on everything. He even took a vacation week to help get things all ready. As one of my friends said "They broke the mold after making him".
I'll post more about the wedding and share pictures soon .... right now I'm just enjoying relaxing and not having to do a thing.

Signs

Whewwwww hard to believe the wedding is so close, things are coming together nicely. I'm so excited and I know everything is going to be lovely. Also, the last time I checked the weather forecast Saturday is supposed to be really nice...I'm praying it is since the wedding is outside.

I had wanted to have some signs made for directions to the wedding for people who weren't familiar with the area, I had attempted to make my own but they turned out honky tonky looking. Well after calling a few places in Columbus to get prices for six signs and hearing the cheapest ones where like $18 each me and Steve decided to get out some more wood and paint and give it another try of making our own. We worked on these Friday and Saturday, they may not be the most beautiful things but I think they aren't bad. We only needed one doubled sided one for the turn off a main hwy, the others I didn't bother putting their names, I just put the word wedding. I am going to dress them up a little with some tulle and ribbon on the stake right underneath the sign, I have one done and it looks pretty...I just don't have a photo uploaded of it to share.
I'll tell ya another thing, it has really been nice that we are into antiques and have a huge stash of neat stuff in the barn, we really haven't had to buy alot at all to decorate with because we already had so much on hand.
Today I am doing some last minute alterations to Tiffany's dress and I still have to cut mine off and hem it, was going to get someone else to do it for me but heck I'm just gonna do it myself. Trying to save all the $$$$$$$$$$$$$ I can !

The Time Is Getting Near

Yesterday evening we rode out to the site of Tiffany and Dustin's wedding to make final plans as to where things are going to be placed, etc. We were there at the actual time the wedding is going to be held, ohhhhhhhhhh it's going to be so pretty.
Here is a photo of the big pecan tree they'll be married underneath. Tiffany has beaded jars and they're going to be hanging from the tree branches with candles in them (we're using battery operated tea light candles so we don't have to worry about the wind blowing them out)
The pictures below are the pavilion where the reception will be held (we have to go out one day and replace lights, it has tons of white Christmas lights in the pavilion or course half of them don't work and the owner said he couldn't guarantee he could have it done before the wedding so we're gonna do it ourselves I guess). You'll have to excuse the old furniture that is under the pavilion in these photos, not sure what that's all about but it won't be there for the wedding/reception. Really I'm so excited, don't you think this is just going to be beautiful at night with all the white lights everywhere in it.

These geese flew over as we were out there, so pretty aren't they!

While there Molly found a little friend (a kitten) to keep her occupied. Not once did she say "I'm bored and ready to go home".

Hospital - Day 3 - We're outta here!

Well this morning we got news we weren't expecting, the doctor is letting Molly go home today (on home IV's of course). It does make me nervous though going home, everything will be up to me....up here there are different shifts of nurses to take care of her, at home there's only me! We've done it several times before though so I'm sure everything will be fine. Doesn't stop it from making me a little nervous though.
Around the time we were told our news Molly just happened to look out the window which overlooks the front circle of the hospital, there was a family and the church Chaplin hugging and you could tell they were crying, I'm sure they lost a child. Ohhhhhh just broke my heart. In a way in makes you feel guilty that you're leaving here with a child doing as well as she is when there are so many families who aren't so lucky. Just heart breaking! I really do admire these doctors and nurses up here, no way I could handle it all. Don't get me wrong about what I said about feeling guilty leaving here with a child doing as well as she is, I am so happy, thankful and tickled Molly is doing as good as she is.........just wish there was something I could do to cure every child or every illness in the world, ohhhh wouldn't that be great!

Hospital - Day 2

One day down, 3 more whole days to go after today (we hope).
Today has been ok. This morning Molly was taken down to the sedation room to have her
PIC line put in. They had a little trouble with her breathing but things are ok now and the PIC line is in fine. We are really to the point though of needing to go ahead and have a port put in I think but I guess we'll discuss that more next hospital stay.

Today is mine and Steve's anniversary. This morning I was sitting here at 7 am and Molly was still snoozing when the door slung open. It was Steve! He really surprised us, we had no idea he was coming up.

Today is also someone else's special day, It's my sister's birthday ... Pam is officially an old fart now (I call her this because this is what she called me when I turned 30, haha).

Hospital Stay - Day 1

Molly was admitted in the hospital yesterday. Her lung function wasn't great and her last hospital stay was back in April so it was really time to come in for some good IV antibiotics to help clean her lungs out. Even though it was time, it's never fun! She really feels good though so it has been a little better having her in a better mood than she's usually in when she's admitted. They put in a regular iv last night but her poor veins have gone through so much they never last long so in the morning they are going to put her to sleep and put in a PIC line, she's had several PIC lines before but she has always been awake, It is so stressful on her and all those around her we decided it would be best if she was asleep for the procedure. Well, things are pretty dull around here, nothing really to tell of so I'll end for now.

Clinic Day

Today is Molly's CF clinic visit in Birmingham. She's had a pretty bad sounding cough for nearly 2 weeks, its not just terrible but more than usual. I'm really worried she will be admitted. We always go packed to stay just in case since we're 2 hrs away, of course as usual Steve is working today so I have all the packing and loading to do myself. That on top of driving there myself which always kind of makes me nervous. And I see on the weather its supposed to be a rainy day, Ughhhhhhhhhh!
Everyone keep your fingers crossed that she has a good checkup, I'm really just worried it isn't going to be a great one though. My nerves are really starting to kick in, Tiffany's wedding is coming up on the 27th, and of course we still have things to get done for that.
I'll try to keep you posted as I can.

Oh My Gracious

I just stepped out my back door and noticed this praying mantis sitting on top of one of my hummingbird feeders. They are one insect I have always been scared of, I decided to get online and read a little about them.

Check this out:

DIET
The praying mantis is a carnivorous insect that takes up a deceptively humble posture when it is searching for food. When at rest, the mantis' front forelegs are held up together in a posture that looks like its praying. These front legs are equipped with rows of sharp spines used to grasp its prey. They wait unmoving and are almost invisible on a leaf or a stem, ready to catch any insect that passes. When potential prey comes close enough, the mantis thrusts its pincher-like forelegs forward to catch it. The prey probably won't escape because the forelegs are so strong and armed with overlapping spines. The mantid bites the neck of its prey to paralyze it and begins to devour it. The mantis almost always starts eating the insect while it's still alive, and almost always starts eating from the insect's neck. This way, the mantis makes sure that the insect's struggle stops quickly. Praying mantises eat insects and other invertebrates such as other mantises, beetles, butterflies, spiders, crickets, grasshoppers, and even spiders. The praying mantises also eat vertebrates such as small tree frogs, lizards, mice and hummingbirds. Praying mantids can resemble flowers and can catch small, unknowing hummingbirds. Praying mantids also eat other nesting birds.

Interesting, huh? I could not imagine one of these things catching and eating a hummingbird but I think I'm gonna go shew him away just in case!

Beautiful Surprise

I sure do love my husband, not just because he surprised me this week with beautiful roses for no reason, really does make me stop and think though when I get surprises like this that hey, he does think of me when we're apart.

I have decided that this is now my favorite color rose, aren't they beautiful. I'm really a neutral color gal ....

Back to my sweet husband, I promise there is no doubt this man was created for me, and me for him. I don't know any other couple who has as much in common as my husband and I, there just aren't words to describe our love. I know the next 50 years are gonna be as great as the first 15 years have been.

A Venting Mother

Ok, I'm not exactly sure how to put all this to make sense but I'm gonna give it a shot.
You know as parents are children are the most special, most important things in our lives.
I have always tried to raise my kids with them knowing that they are just as good as anyone else in this world. I always try to teach them to be nice to anyone and everyone. If I ever saw a child of mine making fun of anyone or trying to belittle someone for any reason I would get so mad.
The point of this post is I am so frustrated and sick of some of the attitudes some of these 12 and 13 yr old girls have at school. One mainly is a cute little girl but how she treats other girls is really really really sad!
I believe we're all children of God and I believe all children are precious, no matter what.
I just hope I do a good enough job teaching these things to Molly because these days things are pretty ugly at school. There is so much children have to deal with and go through.
Boy how times have changed...

Exciting News

How exciting! I won something ... that is really exciting for me because I never win anything. A sweet friend I have met through blogging, Kori at http://lifeasacferswife.blogspot.com/ had a pay-it-forward contest and I'm the lucky grand prize winner.
Really though if you knew about Kori you would understand what makes her so special. She's such a sweet person and has gone through and continues to go through so much in her life. Her wonderful husband (Richard) suffers from CF (something I know alot about personally) and on top of CF he suffers from cancer. I know that Kori and her two boys are so lucky to have Richard but I also know that Richard and the boys are sooooo very lucky to have Kori. Such a great family! I ask everyone reading my blog to please put this family on your prayer list! I'll tell you I don't know I could be as strong as they are if I were in their shoes, pray for them to keep this strength ... I know they have God on their side, after all they found each other in the first place didn't they.
